I like that this read more like a story than the straight informative baby books but I didn't really learn anything that I didn't already know. In fact, I felt like the author should have done some more basic research, particularly on herd immunity. Most of the book was misinformed but the section on vaccines was particularly bad. Overall, read it if you're looking for a few laughs but don't plan to use this as any sort of informational reference.

If you are a medical professional at all, you will be horrified by the vaccination chapter. Or if you plan on being anything but a stay at home mom in the suburbs, this book is not for you.

Ok read. I wasn’t blown away by it. Not that much educational information, more just entertainment value. The chapter on vaccination is absolutely atrocious garbage!!!!

I'm going to be a first time mom and honestly this book made motherhood seem absolutely terrible. The entire thing basically talks about how your whole life will change for the worse, and there is no happiness in the end. I actually had to stop reading it half way through my pregnancy because it made me so anxious, and I'm finally finishing it with less than a week until baby is here.No real tips and nothing I haven't heard before. Just reiterates all my fears about how life will be more difficult with no real, helpful advice on how to deal with it. I would NOT get this for a first time mom!

It's a little funny, not much. Not really helpful and full of cliches. Tha author didn't do real research about a lot of things. This book even supports the anti vaccine movement because they cause autism. Which is totally bunkers!!! I don't recommend this book.

This is a really funny, but heavily sarcastic view of motherhood. There were a LOT of areas that had me laughing out loud, but several others where I just wanted to tell her, "Stop whining!" Probably not the best for a very young mother (would terrify her), but experienced moms will find it hilarious!

I had an awful labor that ended up in a c-section and honestly this book is one of the things that got me through it. I just kept thinking back to the section were she talks about her own labor and how her birth plan flew out the window but she survived it. This book is also hilarious and gives a very real perspectiv about childbirth and raising children. It was refreshing!

Pregnant with our first child, my husband and I felt a little overwhelmed with the amount of parenting advice out there. On a whim, I ordered this book, and I'm so glad I did. It's a really easy read (finished in two days) and it gave both of us some laughs that we really needed during this time. The good, the bad, and the real of having a baby. Do I agree with all of the points of view in the book? No. Did I realize that it shows that every woman has their own view of parenting and that's ok? Yes.
