The destruction the Inquisitrix has caused might not be fixable but she isn't going to get away with it, Kaseya will get her vengeance!That's not all though! The events in "The Amazon's Pledge" are so profound other heroes and Heroines have felt the affects. The famous and lovable duo from "The Ranger-General Submission", Serrane and Cassel, have sensed something strange has happened and rush to Highwind in order to maintain order and rally their troops but they might be too late. The duo face a harsh reality check when they meet their adversary. Will they be able to fight an enemy who has an elite force that is infamous for their voracious appetite for magic? Who knows? We do know that they won't go down without a fight!Another great story with the right amount of erotica/smut! I do like a good smut scene after a tough fight haha. Thanks Sarah Hawke, I loved it!
Moving from 1st person to 3rd is fantastic is the exact change that needed to be done for this series. Sarah Hawke's universe has far too many characters and perspectives to ever fully explore from Jorem's limited, easily distracted perspective (very similar to Ciaphas Cain from 40K actually, love em both).The change to 3rd person allows us to see more of the lovingly submissive Ranger General and Cassiel (definitely need more masochist elves in this story) and their on struggles to keep the city from collapsing.The story is definitely setting up a somewhat bleak and dark tone for the next few books, after all there is possible treachery everywhere, and the enemy, despite the heroes best efforts has only grown in power and influence. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how Jorem and co try their best to stop the Inquistrix from doing exactly what she wants.
The story continues in a very enjoyable and entertaining book. The MC continues to grow in power and the ladies are getting more and more powerful as well. The book starts off where the last one ended without missing a beat. The pacing was good and the plot was well executed with the introduction of the new obstacles that will have to be overcome. Overall it was a excellent book.
