Very good book but you may also consider the CMQ/OE Primer from the Indiana Quality Council and the CMQ/OE Exam Secrets Study Guide as additional resources. In any case, you should also purchase an electronic exam either from ASQ or the Indiana Quality Council and practice taking the exam. I advice this because this was what I did and I passed the exam.
I was very nervous when I got my tracking info and found out it was coming from India! I also needed the CQE handbook, and I saw some comments here about the quality. So, I went to the ASQ website and bought it there to be safe (although it was TWICE as much with my discount). My books arrived about the same time. The one from India was shrink-wrapped. The one from ASQ was not. Both brand new with zero defects. :) The only difference I notice is on the back of the CQM/OE book it says "For sale in India" in small print. Some of the comments on the CQE handbook on Amazon had me nervous, so I'll keep my ASQ one. But my CQM/OE handbook ordered here is perfect.
I used this book in conjunction with the Primer from Indiana Quality Council and it complements the Primer pretty well. I passed the exam and this book and the Primer were my only resources. Read it, highlight it, jot notes in it, and add to the index and you'll be in good shape.An important thing to know is that this book includes a complete exam, 150 questions just like the exam has and some example essay questions with explanations. It's a good book and the information is good. But it's huge and it does not seem to be organized as well as the Primer. Like I said it complements the Primer, mostly because it has info that is not in the Primer.Bottom line, If I had to pick between this book and the Primer, the Primer wins hands down. But if you can buy both I'd recommend doing that. Remember I did pass and the Primer and this book were my only resources.
This book has good principles of auditing and good information, but since ISO 9001:2015 is the latest, this book is outdated.
Very good book. I recommend it to not only those who want to be certified as ASQ Auditors but also to anyone involved in designing, implementing and maintaining quality systems (e.g. manufacturers of foods, beverages, nutraceuticals, and dietary supplements).
Glad you can now buy this monster for Kindle - although the hardback version is nice since you can take it into the test with you for reference during the multi-choice section of the certification exam. It gives you everything you need to pass, but it is a beast of a boring books, so many facts, figures and rules you have to basically memorize, even if you are already working as a performance/process manager.
It is a comprehensive huge book with the BOK fully covered. It is a suitable dry book suited well for the subject and I didn't have any surprises when taking the test. Therefore it was great.
Must have to study for exam! Great resource and help to set pace for exam preparation
