A very precise and doctrinally sound book. I enjoyed learning more about where the Jehovah's Witnesses come from and where their errors are.
Ted Dencher had been a Jehovah's Witness for over ten years; in 1957, he converted to evangelical Christianity.He wrote in the Introduction to this 1966 book, "Various individuals view me with mixed feelings. Some wonder, for instance, why I am in the full-time itinerant ministry. Others wonder why I have even written a book. Still others pass me off as someone with a gripe against Jehovah's Witnesses... Yet there are those who fully realize what is behind it all. It is to those that this book is especially dedicated."Here are some quotations from the book:"Jehovah's Witnesses ... frown upon any individual effort of a person to make something of himself. They discourage ambition in toto---except, of course, the works you perform for the organization!" (Pg. 16)"I soon found that no individual study or research was allowed, but one's knowledge must be limited by what the Watch Tower organization permits him to have. A person could not think beyond that." (Pg. 21)"Naturally, to be able to go through many years of arguing and debating successfully takes advance preparation. That is where the Jehovah's Witnesses have it over the average church member. The J.W. is prepared by means of training and the church member is not." (Pg. 35-36)"Jehovah's Witnesses do not WORSHIP God. In the ten years that I was one of them, we never held a worship service. There is no reverence for God, no awe of Him in their hearts...
