Authentic recipes for European-style artisan breads. Worth having in case you're in the mood to make them. Complex doughs are prepared entirely in the bread machine, but loaves are finished in the oven. Detailed introductory information and instructions are easy to follow.Published in 1995, info given on bread machine brands is obsolete and I don't know if all of the recommended suppliers are still in business. The only reason I gave this excellent book 4 stars instead of 5 is because, aside from the dust jacket, it lacks color photographs. All it has are a few pale sketches, but it remains a must-have on the subject..

After getting a used bread machine and making a few standard loaves, I wanted to branch out to something a bit more creative. This book is the best I've seen on how to get amazing bread that looks hand-made and feels just a little bit like cheating!Yes, many recipes require you to 'start' a yeast mix a day or more beforehand. The one-day-before ones aren't actually that difficult - just put in a few ingredients overnight, then finish the bread the next morning in time for your dinner party that night!But for every complex recipe there are several others that are dead simple - make dough, shape dough, rest dough, bake dough. I've settled onto about half-dozen recipes that are my favourites, but there's enough variety in there that everyone will find a different favourite. It also branches out into focaccias, bread sticks, rolls and sweet breads.If all you want is to learn some new recipes but make and bake it all in your bread machine, this is not the book for you. But if you want to stretch your creative muscles and experiment with shaping your own fancy loaves, this book is well worth it.

Although most of the time the machine is set on "dough", it is ideal for anyone with arthritis, or strength issues. Many people are unable to even use a hand-held mixer for a variety of health issues. I enjoy the concepts as much as the recipes. I'm not afraid to tinker with recipes, nor am I afraid of failure. I'm among those who are sick of eating bread that tastes like sliced pablum. This book gives alternatives that anyone can use.

I don't have much baking experience, so I find the process intimidating. That's why I bought a bread machine. But while I have tried out some of the recipes in this book that are set-and-forget (Pane al cioccolato, polenta bread) with good results, I am increasingly inspired to try the recipes that use the dough setting and require you to shape the bread. I had especially good results with the focaccia (the Italian olive oil bread dough was so wet that I couldn't shape it into a ball). I hope to gain more experience and expertise.

Even though this book says for bread machines...most of the recipes are cooked in the oven. But for the most part...that's okay because the bread is good and excellent in some cases. You do have to watch the dough cycle in your bread machine more than I would have liked....but the authors tell you that. You have to watch for too dry or too wet dough. As a novice I wasn't sure what it should be like, even though the authors tell you. You have to develop a skill for what that's like. I hope to develop more skills to be able to try more of these recipes.Bread machines don't usually produce "rustic" types of breads...this is one way to accomplish this.

This book boggles the mind! It contains, not only recipes, but information covering just about everything you EVER wanted to know about it. From ingredients such as flour and eggs, to yeast and starters (including several used for yummy French breads) and a wide variety of recipes. This book is going on the shelf above my bread machine!

The cook book is not at all what I expected. Almost none of the recipes can be finished in the bread machine. Basically you need the bread machine for kneading and rising and then take the dough out of the machine for finishing touches and baking. I doubt that I will bake any of the recipes.

I checked this book out of the library years ago and had so many successful results that I finally bought the book. It's a great reference book as well as offering a very reliable variety of recipes. My sons are now making their own bread and I just bought another one as a gift to continue the family legacy.

The story was fairly good. I like when several books follow each other with the same people. I really enjoy a book that if I get ready to read I can remember what it's about. This one I had a hard time remembering. What I didn't like is it should have been proof read. So many missing words or wrong words in sentences.

I rally liked this book it was very interesting. I like it where it is a clean Amish Romance and the Christian base values she is a good writer.

Breaking Amish Tradition by Sandra Becker has written a really great book, giving the women an men of Amish a way to stay true to their faith and yet live the way they feel is right. When you start this book, you will feel sad because in our way of living to work an live the way they want seems wrong to us. This book is not just one story it is different stories and different ways things were handled, so don't just stop after the first one keep going. Some times a person goes along day after day the way they are brought up in their family an yes that is the way they want to follow the ways of the parents an their church but to a outsider when something happens an they fall in love no matter how hard they try not too it doesn't seem fair that they have to give up the love of their life. Well that is what happened in this book, the person hadn't been baptized as yet so she decided that after giving a lot of thought and tears decided that it hurt her so much but yet she felt that leaving the community an family for the love of the person that she wanted to marry was the way for her to go. She goes out into the real world with the man that she loves and he loves her, he keeps asking if she is sure an in her mind she says yes but in her heart she is still not sure. Now it is up to all of you to go an gets these books an spend the next few hours an I can say hours because once you start that first page you are going to be hooked . You will end up thanking Sandra Becker for this book, please send her a PM telling her how much you loved this book and then come on amazon and write a review telling others that they need to read and enjoy what they have read, also ask them to make a review so that this books makes the number one list.

What a pleasant reading. Each short story was filled with warmth and good feeling. Each character was seen while the stories were read. Well done!

I enjoyed reading the stories, however there are so many errors in them that are distracting. They need to be more closely proofread. Also, it seems nearly all of the main male characters are broad-shouldered and handsome and the girls beautiful. A picture of real life and moral character could be more emphasized instead. Also, love at first sight is shallow, not true love. Love has to be based on experiences and that takes time. I do appreciate the high morals that are upheld and enjoy reading of the Amish way of life.Thank you for letting me give my input. I do not expect you to publish this review, but just wanted to give my view.

Enjoyed the time I spent reading this book set. Nice to be able to read without cuss words, explicit sex, etc.

My daughter really wanted to teach herself to play the piano. She enjoyed putting these on her keyboard and the directions were clear enough she was able to do it on her own. Good quality--great price.

I got these to help my daughter see visually where the notes are. They stick really well and the peel of nicely too without residue. Not sure yet about the fading of print as I just got it, but I will update this post if anything changes.I placed the stickers as high up the key as I can and when my daughter (8yrs old) plays, her fingers don't really touch them When I play, even when my fingers rest on them, I don't really feel that it's there. I think it's great for people who are just starting to get familiar with notes and their placement on the keys.

Arrived quickly--thank you! These are pretty nice and have stayed on the keys so far. Somehow I missed any mention as to how many notes were actually included--THIS DOES NOT COVER A FULL SIZED PIANO OR KEYBOARD (88 keys). To open the stickers in front of a little music lover and realize that they would not cover all the keys--that was a bit disappointing!!! It seems common for sellers on Amazon to be a bit vague as to how many stickers are in a pack--clarity would REALLY help! I spent over an hour sorting through feedback and trying to decipher the sellers' claims, just trying to find ones that were 88 key stickers. Other than that, the stickers are restickable, good size for beginner student, and have been helpful to identify the keys that they did cover. They have been in use for at least 2 months, and still seemed in good condition. I would have given 5 stars if it had been clear about how many stickers were actually included. Even just a picture of the product and I could have counted how many octaves were included.

Great price, not such a great product. I bought these for my daughter's keyboard and we applied them on 9/23... After only a few days of very light use, the letters are already smudged and disappearing! What a waste of a few dollars. Do not buy these ones. Either buy the more expensive ones with better reviews or just use a dry erase marker on the keys. These ones not only smudge and become totally useless after only a few days but the smudging makes a horrible mess on the keys. Very disappointed and will be seeking a refund.

Loved these! They did exactly what I had hoped they would do. First time learning the piano on my own and I never thought I would learn all the keys (major/minor). I kept them on for a few weeks; btw-if they’re wearing down on you then I suggest putting them in between the black keys- put the bottom part of the sticker flush to the bottom part of the black keys. (you don’t HAVE to follow the picture’s placement exactly) That positioning they show has the heaviest finger traffic when playing lolBut then the moment of truth came when I decided to take them off to test myself. I now don’t need them at all and was/am so excited and surprised that I learned all the keys!! My advice as an in progress self taught learner- use these at first for a few weeks, (they’re reusable! I have mine saved in the package and take comfort in knowing they’re there in case I need them again!) but don’t rely on the stickers- take them off after a few weeks- even if little by little.
